why leather?
slow-fashion, zero-waste, hand-made, small-batch, long-lasting.
A closer look at how these are key ideals, not just key-words at TICH.
Responsible Sourcing
Contrary to popular belief, India is the global leader in beef export so what we are using is essentially waste material. At the heart of it, we are not creating, we are re-purposing.

Best Practices
The home of TICH has an eco-cert award, surpassing standards. Our in-house tannery ensures every hide is tanned under strict supervision, mostly with vegetable tannins, always non-toxic ones. + an in-house water filtration/recycling plant.

Hand - Made
Because we make all our pieces in (very!) small batches, each design is hand-drawn and then consequently hand-cut, sewn and finished by a small team of masterjis and karigars.

Zero-Waste
We use every bit of scrap of our hides! What doesn't go into bags, goes into small accessories that make for perfect add-ons to a set.

Timelessly Trendy
With the right care, leather can be passed down generations. It can be endlessly refreshed and repaired; it neither deteriorates nor disintegrates; it is all-weather resistant; continuing to make it a historically sustainable choice.

Frill Free
We refuse to create more waste. You'll find no bells whistles tissue ribbon when you receive a TICH (unless you expressly ask)!. Our packaging is minimal, re-usable and recyclable. Most of our orders go out in re-purposed packing material/boxes
